Color theory

When selecting a room color, consider how the space will be used. In reception spaces, use bold colors, whereas in bedrooms, use softer tones to relax the mind. Pops of color in a dining area are ideal since you’re searching for visual stimulation and want to explore this space. Bedrooms should evoke feelings of cocooning, which is why some individuals choose rich, warm colors in mine. And last, don’t limit color to just the walls: if you want to keep the room looking plain, consider adding a bright rug or upholstering one chair in a contrasting color.

An exhibition of artwork

You don’t necessarily have to present art in a white box, and this is certainly true today. Brightly colored or darkly textured walls can draw attention to a piece of art. Consider using frames as well: some individuals prefer antique wooden ones in casual locations and gilded ones in more formal settings. When designing a scheme, some individuals often look to painters who framed their works.

Making an entrance

Because you’re only in them for a few seconds at a time, entrance halls and toilets are excellent places to use patterned wallpaper. Textured wallpapers give a room a sophisticated and inviting vibe.

Putting the final touch

Don’t worry about going overboard when putting together pillows, art, and other things. Certain parts may appear weird on their own, yet they will work wonderfully well together when put together. Leave them together for a day or two, and then make any necessary adjustments — some individuals frequently relocate a lampshade or a few pillows to a different room after they have been together for a while.
